What exactly is meant by going "the extra mile"?
- Generally, it means that you not only complete the requirements of the task that has been presented, but then you take it beyond what was asked.
- Why would anyone want to do this??? Why give yourself MORE work, right? Everyone will have their own motivating factors to make them want to go beyond the requirements of the original project. Sometimes our ideas are just more complicated or intricate. Sometimes the project isn't like "work" at all, when the topic is something we truly have passion for. Sometimes when we start a project, it evolves into something bigger than we anticipated and we decide to just ride that wave!
- How can you go "the extra mile"? To go "the extra mile", the sky is your only limit! Once you have your topic, take a look at all of the ideas on the choice board. Ask yourself, is there a way to combine two or more selections from the choice board into one project?
